As we welcome the month of March on Lake Oconee, The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation welcomes a new member to their culinary staff! David Nolan, a 20 year veteran of the industry, has been named the new Executive Pastry Chef. No stranger to the Ritz-Carlton franchise, Nolan comes to the lake from Washington, DC, where he was most recently the Executive Pastry Chef for the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner and previously worked for the AAA Five-Diamond Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall Resort in Jamaica.
A native of Canada, David graduated from Niagara College Canada and went on to hone his skills at the famed Empress Hotel in Victoria. He became a chef instructor for the culinary arts program at Malaspina University-College in British Columbia and then worked for Fairmont Resorts & Hotels Canada for 12 years.
Nolan takes charge of all bakery operations for the award winning property including creating the seasonal desserts for the Ritz’ signature restaurant, Georgia’s Bistro. He will also develop the entire pastry menu for the Lodge’s celebrated steakhouse, Linger Longer, which is set to reopen it’s doors in April of this year!
We’ve had several unbelievable weeks of weather here on the lake and residents and visitors alike are taking advantage of the opportunity to get outside and enjoy it! I came across a blog earlier today maintained by a photographer from South Carolina who came down to the Ritz recently for a gals getaway with her mom. First off I have to say her eye as a photographer is unbelievable and before I knew it I found myself completely engrossed by her blog! The fun they had was completely captured in the smiles on their faces and what a great place to spend some time with the girls! From the pictures she captured it looks to have been a fantastic weekend for them both. Who doesn’t enjoy sunbathing in early March, spa treatments, facials, and margaritas?
You and your lady friends need a weekend away?!?
