Ahhh, it’s that time of year again. Hard to believe that it’s already Christmas again! With each passing year it seems that the time from one holiday season to the next just goes by quicker and quicker. Does it not?
Here on Lake Oconee the leaves have mostly fallen from the trees but not before I was able to gather quite a collection for our pending wedding next year to go along with our fall theme : ) On this, the first day of December, there is a brisk chill in the air and this time I think it’s here to stay. For me it’s only fitting for the time of year and the warm weather we had late into the fall was nice but it definitely did not give off a Christmas feel. Our tree is up here in our condo and when night falls the streets are lit by twinkling lights, sparkling reindeer in the yards, and wreaths aplenty.
The holidays are a time for family and if you are expecting loved ones for Christmas there is plenty to do in the area to keep everybody entertained! On December 3rd, Greensboro’s Better Hometown is hosting the annual lighting of the Christmas tree in downtown Greensboro from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Join the festivities on the Court House Lawn and if you and your family are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of Santa and his elves while you are there! Or take advantage of the opportunity to get in some shopping while downtown stores stay open late just for the occasion!
If you, your family, or your friends are staying at the phenomenal Ritz-Carlton Lodge on Reynolds Plantation there is a plethora of fantastic events taking place there throughout the month. For the kids there are Pajama Breakfasts with Santa, Holiday Tuck-Ins, or Story Time with Mrs. Claus. As a family join one of two Gingerbread House Decorating Parties and bring out the aspiring pastry chef in you or your little ones! Be sure to pause in the lobby and check out the Gingerbread Holiday Display as it is a masterpiece.
Here’s to a very merry, holiday season!
